Take a leisurely drive along our stretch of the Wild Atlantic Way to visit local seaside villages and family-run pubs and cafés — this is a part of the world where great food is produced and enjoyed and you’ll get a real flavour of West Cork on your travels. Or head out to the hills and explore the coastal paths and inland trails of the world-renowned Sheep’s Head Way walking route.

Walking, Sailing & More!
There are twenty loop walks on offer around Bantry and on West Cork’s Sheep’s Head peninsula. Take a short ferry ride from the pier across to Whiddy Island, and you’ll find bikes for hire as well as another great loop walk. A stop at The Bank House pub can also be recommended. You can also do some island hopping by taking the famous cable car out to Dursey Island where dolphins and whales are regular visitors to the rich waters, in addition to a wide range of different types of seabirds and butterflies.
Some of the highlights of the Wild Atlantic Way can easily be reached from here. The Mizen Experience is a signature experience on Ireland’s coastal touring route, and the Bantry Bay Blueway is just outside our door!
Just a few minutes from here you can take the memorable pony trekking trip up to Maggie Murphy’s Cottage with Bantry Bay Pony Trekking. And you won’t regret a day spent sailing on West Cork bays with Carbery Sailing!
